The only test

If people look you up
before they buy.

That's the only thing that matters. It doesn't matter what you sell or where you are. If somebody checks you on their phone before they ring, then what they find is worth money, and right now most of you are losing it.

In practice

The kinds I
see most.

Not a list of who I'll take on. Just where the same problems keep turning up, and what they look like in each.

Trades and services

Roofers, cleaners, landscapers, electricians, driveway firms. Usually a phone that's gone quiet and a Google listing nobody has touched since it was set up.

Shops and salons

Barbers, beauty, florists, pet shops, anything with a door people walk through. Opening hours wrong on Google costs more custom here than anywhere else.

Food and drink

Cafes, takeaways, pubs, bakeries. Photos do nearly all the work, and most places are using ones taken on a bad phone in 2021.

Garages and motor

MOT centres, bodyshops, valeting, tyres. High-intent searching, so the map ranking matters more here than the website does.

Gyms, studios and clubs

Anything sold as a membership. Reviews and a straight answer on price are what stop people scrolling past.

Offices and professional

Accountants, solicitors, surveyors, consultants. Quieter searches, higher value, and a lot of competitors with websites that say nothing.

Anywhere in the UK

I don't need to be
near you.

All of this is done on a laptop. Your Google listing, your reviews, your website, your posts and your ads don't care where I'm sat.

What being remote changes

Nothing, apart from the drone. I'll want half an hour on the phone at the start and once a month after that. Everything else lands in your inbox.

What it doesn't change

You still get me on the phone rather than an account manager. It's still my mobile number on this site, and it still gets answered.

Questions

Questions people ask

My business isn't on that list.

The list is what I see most, not what I'll take on. The underlying problem is nearly always the same: people search, you don't come up, or you come up looking abandoned. Ring me and I'll tell you honestly whether yours is different.

Do you only work with local businesses?

I work with businesses that customers find by searching, which is most of them. If you sell nationally online rather than to people nearby, a lot of this still applies but the Google listing part matters less. I'll say so rather than sell it to you.

You're miles away from me.

Doesn't matter for the work. Listings, reviews, websites, social and ads are all done from a laptop and I'd be doing the identical thing sat in your office. Drone work is the only part that needs me physically there, and that gets quoted separately.

I'm tiny. Is it worth it?

Often more worth it than for a big one, because the free fixes move the needle further when you're starting from nothing. Start with the audit at £199 and you'll know either way inside a week.

Free, no strings

Not sure if it's you?

Send me your business name. I'll look you up the way a customer would and tell you what I find, whether you hire me or not.
