What this involves

The one bit I can't do remotely.

Everything else on this site works the same wherever you are. This doesn't. A drone needs me stood in your car park.

I also run LJ Aerial Media, so this is my own kit and my own licence rather than something I subcontract and mark up. That's the only reason it's affordable at this end of the market.

It's worth it when the thing you sell only reads from above. A finished driveway, a roof, a site, a venue, a big garden, a yard full of stock. From the pavement you get a fence. From forty feet you get the whole job.

What it's good for

  • Before and afters of outdoor work, where the ground shot never shows the scale
  • Condition surveys you can send a customer with the quote
  • A minute of footage for the top of your website and your socials
  • Premises and venues, where people want to see the place before they come

Straight up

The honest limits

Every one of these is something an agency would leave out of the pitch.

  • South East is a normal drive. Anywhere else in the UK and you're paying travel, which I'll quote before we book
  • Flown legally, so some sites near airports or crowds are a no
  • Weather dependent. Rain and high wind stop it, so we book with slack in it
  • No use indoors, for obvious reasons

Questions

Questions people ask

Is it extra on top of the monthly?

Yes. It used to be bundled and that was misleading, because I can't fly a site in Newcastle from Sussex. It's quoted per job now, and the quote includes travel.

Can you show my customer the paperwork?

Yes. Ask before the day and I'll send whatever they want to see across, so nobody's surprised by a drone over their property.

Can you film while we're working?

Usually, and that's the best footage. Just tell me the day before so I can check the airspace and the forecast.

Free, no strings

Want this sorting?

Send me your business name. I'll look at where you stand on this and tell you whether it's worth paying anyone to fix.
